"Too Fat and Too Old"

On March 15, the guys headed to Columbus for the NCAA South First and Second Round Basketball Tournament. We drove down Thursday evening and had tickets for the four games on Friday and two games on Sunday.
Joe had booked us rooms at the Drury Inn about a year ago. Great accommodations...and only two blocks from the Nationwide arena.

Qoutable Qoute: One night as we came back to the hotel, the clerk asked, "How you guys doing?"
Pete responded, "We're OK...just too fat and too old!"

This picture was taken from our seats (with a slight zoom on the camera) and it was during the Illinois vs. Virginia Tech game on Thursday evening. Illinois was beat in the last few minutes of the game.

...And this picture is during the Southern Illinois vs. Holy Cross game later Friday evening.



On Sunday, we watched the Virginia vs. Tennessee game at 12:10 and then the Virginia Tech vs. Southern Illinois at 2:40.

We were on road home by 6:00. We stopped at Jake's in Ashland on the way home.

Although some of us complained earlier that we should have "gone away" for the Regionals this year (as in past years), the trip to Columbus proved once again to be a great time. A few local pubs were frequented (O'Shaunessy's, the FlatIron, Max and Erma's, the bar at the Hyatt Regency, Gordon Biersch Brewery and Jake's to mention a few) and a good time was had by all!!!!

November 18!!!!

Well, the Buckeye 4 headed to Columbus for The Game...we arrived at 7:45 a.m. and our "normal" parking lot was already "Full"! We eventually found our way to Hineygate where The Danger Brothers started playing at 11:00 a.m. (4 1/2 hours before game time!!) Hineygate was taken to a level that we normally don't see in most post game celebrations...it was one fun and crazy atmosphere...


We had fun at Hineygate ...HOWEVER... only one of us was in the Horseshoe to see the game...with ticket prices and availability the way it was...three of us (and I hate to admit this!!)ended up driving back to our hotel to watch the game. (One of us, went kicking and screaming...really wishing to stay and watch the game with some of the other 100,000 fans who had no tickets but were going to stay and watch it somewhere on campus)

Two outstanding runs by Beanie Wells and Antonio Pittman were instrumental in the outcome.

Ohio State vs. Minnesota - October 28

We attended the Minnesota football game this weekend. Pete, Joe, Jeff and I attended the game. The weather was OK - cold and very windy, but at least no rain.

The final score was OSU 44 and Minnesota 0. Another great game for the 105,443 buckeye fans who were there to cheer on their 'buckeyes".

We had the pleasure of observing a special event at half time. Jack Nicklaus was invited to "dot the I" of the script Ohio. Some of the other non-band members who have been asked in the past to "dot the I" include Bob Hope, Woody Hayes, Buster Douglas and OSU President Gordon Gee.

Only the "Buckeye Three" attended this game. (Joe chose to remain home!!!)
Again this week, we had rooms at Hineygate. These pictures show the crowd for the Danger Brothers from our hotel room window.
