We learned that today's scrimmage was an idea initiated by Coach Tressel. The scrimmage pits the offense against the defense. A special scoring technique awards the offense points for TD's, 1st and 10's, plays over 20 yards and field goals. The defense obtains points for forcing a punt, recovering a fumble, interceptions, tackles for a loss, sacks and stopping a 4th down.
The winners of the scrimmage have the bragging rights and are permitted to wear the scarlet practice jerseys the remainder of the pre season.
Following the scrimmage, we went to Rooster's for wings, hot dogs and a salad, provided to us by coachtressel.com. We also had the opportunity there to meet and hear from 2002 quarterback Craig Krenzel and Dionte Johnson, last years fullback.
After having lunch and participating in a raffle of some OSU memorabilia, several players came in to Roosters for lunch.
The following pictures show how cordial these players were when Pete and I asked if we could take some pictures with them. A great group of guys!! We really appreciated their willingness to talk with us and to take the pictures. They truly represent the the Ohio State University in a very exemplary manner.
Here is the whole group of players as they take a minute to let us take their pictures ...
How about the size of these two players...Cameron Heyward 6'6", 287 lb. (DE) and Doug Worthington 6'6", 276 lb. (DT).
