Buckeye Seniors

Over the weekend, the local "Everything Buckeye" store had four Buckeye Seniors there for an autograph session. I was able to have all four of them sign a photo I had taken at this year's Michigan game. "Go Bucks".

What a Night... Game!!!!

Another great weekend!

Joe, Pete and I drove down Friday night. (They actually picked me up in Coventry where I left my car following an afternoon iPad class there). Friday evening we went to Brothers Drake Meadery and Bar and then to Surly Girl's for a good dinner.

Later that night we found the "Nebraska Guys" at BW3 on High Street. These were the same guys who we had spent time with when Pete and I went to Nebraska last year. Mark and several of his buddies drove in to Columbus in an RV. Pete drove the seven of them back to their AV at the end of the evening.

Here they come! The Buckeyes take the field at what was to be a GREAT night of football!!!

Although the first quarter was pretty ugly... 14-7 Cornhuskers (with the Buckeyes having only 17 total yards) ...

The remainder of the game was Awesome... Ohio State had 28 points in the 2nd quarter, and 14 in each of the last two quarters

Buckeye Season- Week Three

Another great weekend in Columbus... Friday night stopped at the Meadery (Saw old friends, Becca, Mary and Louis, and met new friends Caitlyn and Jamie) ... left there, checked in to hotel and then to  the Nationwide Arena District at Three-Legged Mare (do you believe that Gordon Biersch was "Closed" for a "Private Cal Party!!!)... Saturday on campus by 9 am... Danger Brothers at 10, game at noon... after game to hotel and then off to the Columbus Microbrew Fest ... ended the evening back at the Meadery.

We contacted and "hooked up with" Sharon and Jeff, who we had met last week at Barrel 44, at the Microbrew Fest. Great beer and good people to share it with. Sharon and Jeff went with us to the Meadery and we dropped them off at home.

We watched as the team left Blackwell and headed over for "Skull Session".

The Columbus MicroBrew Fest Saturday evening after the game.

Our weekend began Friday evening when we found a new establishment called the Brothers Drake Meadery and Bar located on 5th Ave. Here we were introduced to Mead, "hot shots", and miso soup ... all served and shared with great people (Becca, Mary and Louis) !!!

Then... we went next door to Midwest Distillery to learn about the distilling process for their vodka and whiskey.

A tour of the distillery was interesting and very informative...

On Saturday morning it was cold and raining. By game time it was sunny and comfortable.

And the afternoon ended with the Buckeyes beating Central Florida 31 - 16

Following the game, Pete and I went to River Watch, back to the Dangers (even got to hear "Saturday"..., "Saturday" in their concluding set), then back to the Meadery, the Barrel 44 Whiskey Bar and eventually back to the hotel.

Urban Meyer Era Begins!

The Buckeyes take to the field for the 2012-13 Season... and Pete and I are there!!!

Final Four - New Orleans - 2012

What an outstanding time in New Orleans last weekend!!!
Jim, Pete, Ryland and I met up in New Orleans on Friday afternoon and we each flew home on Tuesday.
Great food, great beer and great friends!!!
Only disappointment was Saturday's Buckeye game...leading throughout and then losing by two!!!

On Friday, we had the opportunity to go to the Superdome and watch the Buckeyes at their last practice prior to the game on Saturday. It was a close-up view of a Buckeye practice.

On Friday evening we went to Woldenberg Park for a free concert, the AT&T Block Party featuring KISS.

On Saturday we took the trolley to the Garden District. On our return from that area, we stopped at the Columns Hotel to have a drink in their bar. From there, we caught a taxi and went to the Buckeye Rally that was held at the downtown Sheraton.

The rally featured ex-Buckeyes as well as President Gee and Gene Smith. The band, cheerleaders and Brutus were also there.
