Indianapolis and Big Ten Tournament

This weekend "the guys" drove 5 1/2 hours to Indianapolis for the Big Ten basketball tournament (OK, actually, George did ALL of the driving). We drove in Thursday night and stayed at Park Place, about 3 miles from the downtown area.
On Friday we saw Wisconsin vs. Michigan, Ohio State vs. Michigan State, Purdue vs. Illinois and Indiana vs. Minnesota.
Saturday we watched Wisconsin defeat Michigan State by 2 and Illinois beat Minnesota by four points. The championship game between Wisconsin and Illinois was on Sunday, although we did not stay to see it. All of the games were held at the Conseco Fieldhouse. The fieldhouse is a very impressive facility.
On Saturday, we also spent two hours in the morning having a tour of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. We all really enjoyed the tour of the facilities.
The following are some pictures from the weekend.

We were impressed by the Conseco Fieldhouse from the moment we entered the facility.

Although our seats were high in the fieldhouse, the view was still great.

At one point we were able to "work our way down" and we sat in row 2 behind the press for a half of one of the games.

We watched the Buckeyes play. While exciting to watch, they were outplayed by Michigan State and lost by five points.

On Saturday morning, we drove to the Indianapolis Speedway and took the two hour tour of the racetrack. We were able to get out at the start/finish line (at the line of bricks), we toured the media area, the timing room and the winners circle. It was a very enjoyable and impressive tour.

Here the guys do an "O - H - I - O" as we sat at the Speedway's Winner's Interview Room !!!

On Saturday night, following the two games, we toured some of the breweries in the area...we went to the Rock Bottom, Alcatraz and a few other establishments.

Each of us received one of these from Linda...Thanks, Linda.
They proved to be very useful warning devices...even in the car on the ride home!!

What a surprise....another successful trip for the "Buckeye Four" !!!
